Admission Criteria
Finding the Right Fit for THS
Thimphu High School welcomes students who demonstrate the academic potential, character, motivation and commitment to benefit from a high-quality residential education. As a boarding school, particular emphasis is placed not only on academic ability but also on a student’s maturity, independence, discipline, interpersonal skills and willingness to participate positively in the school community. Every student should be given an opportunity to discover and develop their potential.
Accordingly, admission will not be determined solely by examination results. The school will adopt a balanced and holistic approach, considering academic potential, character, personal qualities, boarding readiness and the student’s ability to contribute positively to the school community.
The final decision on admission will rest with the school’s admissions committee and will be based on the overall assessment of the applicant and the availability of places.
