Fees Structure & Payment
Annual School Fees
Fee structure for the 2027 academic year.
Annual fees include boarding and residential services, tuition fees, stationery and extracurricular sports training on campus.
Registration & Enrolment Fees
Registration Fee — Nu. 10,000
Non-refundable. Payable upon submission of the application form and before enrolment.
Enrolment Fee — Nu. 20,000
Non-refundable. Payable prior to class admission and before the start of school.
What's Included
One Comprehensive Residential Package
The annual school fee includes:
- Tuition fees
- Boarding and residential services
- Stationery
- Extracurricular sports training on campus
This allows students to experience their academic and residential life within one integrated school environment.
Additional Charges
Some expenses are not included in the annual school fee and will be charged separately.
1. Cambridge Resources
Cambridge resources will be billed based on issuance and course selection.
2. Cambridge Examinations
Fees for Cambridge Checkpoint examinations and IGCSE examinations are additional.
3. School Uniform
School uniforms can be purchased from the school and are charged separately.
4. Laundry
Laundry services are billed monthly.
5. Field Trips
Field trip expenses are billed separately.
Personal Expenses
A Small Allowance for Everyday Needs
Students have a personal expense allowance of:
Nu. 5,000 per term
This amount will be maintained by the school office and may be used for:
- Weekend trips
- Field trips
- Purchases from the school shop
Payment Policy
When Are Fees Due?
For new students, fees must be settled within two weeks of acceptance.
For current students, fees are payable within two weeks of school commencement.

How to Pay
Bank Transfer
Payments should be made by bank transfer to the Thimphu High School account.

Withdrawal Policy
Notice of Withdrawal
If a student is to withdraw from Thimphu High School, one full term’s notice is required.
Parents and guardians are encouraged to communicate with the school administration as early as possible regarding any planned withdrawal.
Important Information
Before making an application, parents and guardians are encouraged to review the complete fee structure carefully.
Please note that:
- The Registration Fee of Nu. 10,000 is non-refundable.
- The Enrolment Fee of Nu. 20,000 is non-refundable.
- Cambridge resources are billed according to issuance and course selection.
- Cambridge Checkpoint and IGCSE examination fees are additional.
- Uniforms, laundry and field trips are charged separately.
- Personal expenses are Nu. 5,000 per term and are maintained by the school office.
- Payment deadlines should be observed according to the school’s payment schedule.
